Hey everyone! Thank you so much for the donations thus far! Means a lot to our family that Maxy will have the means to get his surgery. The surgeon is ready for as soon as we have the total cost for his surgery. We are almost there. There will be another follow up surgery weeks after so we are financially prepared for that also thanks to all your help. The infection in his eye has cleared leaving just the scarring on his cornea to be repaired in surgery. Other than that, he is still a happy curious puppy who gets up to mischief every day! Max is getting desexed next week! The eye specialist strongly suggested getting it done before his surgery. And we are looking forward to celebrating his first birthday on Easter Sunday! Thank you very much to all who have donated. We appreciate all the love & support for our Max!
Max came to us almost a year ago. We had not even looked into getting a Dog though my children always wanted one. A family member was giving away puppies and she thought about us. I was very reluctant because though I’m very fond of dogs, I never ever wanted to own one! But he arrived and there was no returning him. We knew absolutely nothing of his breed until a vet visit gave us some sad news. Being a Sharpei cross, one of their major problem areas is the eyes; eye disorders including Entropion in which Max has. His eyes have rolled in causing his lashes to scratch on his cornea which brings him great discomfort and pain. It has left a hole there which is why he is partially blind. His surgery will reconstruct that and maybe a little facelift for my boy :) Max came to our lives during a time where I was in a really dark place and he literally saved me! Dogs are truly that silent companion that will remain loyal and love you their whole short lives. We want to help our boy get healthy & well so he can thrive and continue living his best life! Max had an infection in his eyes made worse by all the rubbing. Our vet prescribed him Fucithalmic eye drops and he just finished the Meloxicam for the inflammation and pain. It saddens us that he’s been experiencing such pain & discomfort in his eyes yet is still as happy as ever to see each one of us everyday! Thank you for the love & support shown for our Maxy boy. x
