Helping me continue my fight with stage 4 cancer through alternative treatment, hope, and care so I can live for my family
Karaka, Auckland
In 2025, my life changed forever when I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. I began chemotherapy, but after one session I had a severe reaction that nearly took my life and I was unable to continue safely. Soon after, another metastatic diagnosis changed everything again and our world was turned upside down.
I went from walking independently to needing a wheelchair and crutches. It has been an overwhelming and heartbreaking journey for me and my family.
Because chemotherapy is not a safe option for me, I have spent the past seven months pursuing alternative treatment, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, organic nutrition, and essential vitamins and minerals. We have seen encouraging signs of improvement and I deeply want to continue.
Unfortunately, these treatments are not covered by insurance. I am unable to work, and our household income has dropped from two incomes to one, making it impossible to sustain ongoing costs.
Funds raised will go directly toward my continued treatment, including oxygen therapy sessions, organic food, supplements, and a healing retreat.
I am not ready to give up. I have 3 boys, the youngest is 17 & my husband who all are holding onto hope with me. We are doing everything we can to fight for more time together.
Any support, no matter how small, would mean more than words can express. Thank you for standing with us on this journey. Your kindness and support gives us hope to keep fighting for life each day, and to keep believing in healing.
Funds raised will go directly toward my continued treatment, including oxygen therapy sessions, organic food, supplements, and a healing retreat.
My Time Is Not Done Yet 8 September 2026
Three weeks ago, I was taken by ambulance to hospital after I suddenly couldn’t stand or move my right leg. An MRI, CT scan and X-ray showed multiple fractures in my right hip.Because of the disease, the ball, socket and pelvis had deteriorated badly. The doctors spent a week planning how to do this complex hip replacement.Surgery was scheduled for 26 August. Just before I went into theatre, the lead surgeon spoke to me, my husband and sister-in-law.Because of the state of the disease, he wanted us to understand there was an increased chance I might not make it through surgery. What was meant to be a 3½ hour operation became 6 hours.I lost around 80% of my blood and needed 9 pints of blood transfusions and an iron infusion. But I made it. ❤️ A miracle.I truly believe God pulled me through for a reason. My time is not done here on earth, and I’m so grateful He spared me. I’m also deeply grateful to everyone who gives blood.I’m home with my family now. The days are tough. I’m in pain and the suffering is real, but my eyes are on God. My husband and son have been incredible. The way they love and care for me gives me strength and another reason to keep fighting.I don’t always understand my purpose through all of this, but I believe the picture will become clearer. My desire to live is much greater than my desire to die.Thank you to everyone who has donated, prayed, messaged and supported us.Your kindness reminds us that we are not alone. I’m so grateful to you all. ❤️🙏🏻
