Fundraising for the World Powerlifting Champs in Canada. Hoping to bring home some medals!

Auckland

I've been selected to represent New Zealand at the World Powerlifting Championships in Calgary! As many who know me will know I've been working my little butt off (or on you might say) in powerlifting in the last year. With a lot of encouragement I applied this year and I intend to make a bloody good go of it.

While powerlifting requires a huge amount of time and often feels like a part time job I do have an actual part time job as a nanny and I'm also studying full time. This puts a bit of strain on things financially. I'm determined to make it work as I'm not one to let opportunities pass me by but if you could contribute to my cause it would go a long way for me and be greatly appreciated.

For anyone curious about the powerlifting side of things: I am an U52kg junior. Competing at this class and age puts me at an advantage because there are usually less competitors. At the time I'm writing this my lifts are: squat- 127.5 bench- 82.5 deadlift-152.5 for a 362.5kg total. As a bit of a comparison last years winner totalled 357.5kg. Of course each year everyone gets stronger but one of the reasons we decided to go for it this year was because it looks like I'm in with a good shot.

Use of funds

The money will cover, flights, accomodation, transport, entry fees, passport or visa fees, and any additional gear that is needed.
