Support Bianca & I as we race Peak to Peak to raise funds for local communities in The Philippines

15 years ago, my mother left the UK and returned to the small village in The Philippines where she was raised. Since then, she has dedicated her time to making a positive impact by raising funds and awareness for various projects in remote communities. Through her efforts, countless families have received aid, including essential amenities like running water, sanitation facilities, sturdy roofs, and even basic necessities like rice, which became all the more crucial during the challenging times of the pandemic.

In 2 months I'll be visiting & I'm eager to contribute to her inspiring work. I am teaming up with my friend Bianca to participate in the iconic 42km multisport Peak to Peak race here in Queenstown. Our mission is to not only raise funds, but also create a meaningful impact on the ground. The funds we raise will be dedicated to organising a much-needed community event and providing care packages to those in need.

The harsh reality is that the repurcussions of the pandemic have hit developing countries hard, and my mother has witnessed this firsthand. Unemployment rates are still surging across the nation, and the remote villages that we are focusing on are grappling with limited opportunities and pervasive poverty.

The community event will offer local residents a chance to come together, share a nourishing meal, and partake in games. Furthermore, we will distribute care packages to families, ensuring they have essentials like rice, cooking oil, soap and toothpaste.
