Help Me Reunite With My Family and Begin My Healing Journey

Kia ora, I’m Kelsey. This is a vulnerable thing for me to share, but I’m reaching out because I truly need support. It has now been two years since I’ve been able to visit my family in the United States, and the distance has taken a huge emotional and physical toll. I live with Type 1 diabetes, CPTSD, neuropathy, and other health challenges, which means I can only work part‑time. Because of this, I simply cannot afford the cost of travelling home on my own.

My fundraiser has two stages: an urgent $10,000 milestone to help me visit my family after two long years apart, and then continued fundraising toward the remaining $35,000 needed to move home permanently. Returning home will also allow me to enter a clinical trial that could potentially cure my Type 1 diabetes — something I can only do if I’m living back in the U.S.

A major part of the cost is my two girls, Delta and Duchess. They aren’t “just pets” — they protected me during a DV situation and have kept me earthside on more than one occasion. They help me manage my CPTSD every single day. I cannot and will not leave them behind, which makes relocation significantly more expensive.

I’m doing everything I can to rebuild my life, but I can’t do this alone. Any support — whether it’s a donation or sharing my page — brings me one step closer to seeing my family, accessing life‑changing medical care, and creating a safer, more hopeful future with the two dogs who saved me.
