I want some help for my son Michael to get him to the 13th Europe Autism Congress in Nice, France in September.
Canterbury
This is for my son Michael and I need help to get him to France. He is in his second year of University, he has a photographic memory, is a passionate film maker, actor, rock drummer and writer. He has a great sense of humour, a fantastic intellect and is one of the kindest and most gentle people I know. He also has Asperger Syndrome.
Following his submission of an abstract, Michael has just been accepted to present at the 13th Europe Autism Congress in Nice, France in September. This is an international conference that only happens every three years and it's a huge honour for him to be accepted. Michael is going to talk about his journey and struggle with Aspergers, his film making and his realisation that it gives him a unique and creative way of looking at the world. He has made an incredible short film about his experiences as a person with Aspergers and it deserves to be shown to an international audience.
Michael is one of my heroes - he has risen above being bullied and misunderstood for his Aspergers to become a fabulous talented young guy with so much talent and potential and going to France is the opportunity of a lifetime. I need to raise funds to get Michael there, he is a very special young Kiwi who will be standing on an international stage to show his film and tell the world his story.
Michael is my son and he has Asperger Syndrome
We need to pay airfares, conference registration and accommodation for Michael, me and his older brother to travel to Nice, France. Any excess will be donated to Aspie Help, The Aspire Trust, a support organisation for people with Aspergers.
Heartfelt thanks 30 August 2019
