Help fund cancer treatment that gives my mother the fighting chance
Auckland
Hi everyone,
My name is Erena, and I’m fundraising for my beautiful mum Jacqui, who is currently fighting the toughest battle of her life — cancer.
She’s 70 years old and has been courageously battling cancer for the past three years. She’s been through multiple rounds of chemotherapy and radiation, enduring all the side effects and pain with incredible strength. The type of cancer she has usually has an 80% cure rate with initial treatment, but, as Mum always jokes, she had to be "a bit different" and ended up in the 20% who aren’t so lucky.
Her doctors have told us that her body can no longer handle radiation or chemotherapy. The only remaining option is immunotherapy (keytruda) — a promising treatment that gives her a fighting chance.
The problem? Keytruda is not funded by the government for her type of cancer.
And it's very expensive.
My mum has spent her life helping others — teaching English to refugees and migrants, and raising me as a single parent. Every donation goes directly to her treatment. If you can help or share, it means the world to us.
The person I am fundraising for is my mother
