Help My Mum Lita Luberia With Her Unexpected Medical Bill in New Zealand
Warkworth, Auckland
I am humbly asking for help for my mum, who recently experienced a medical emergency here in New Zealand.
Mum came to New Zealand to spend precious time with our family and grandchildren. One Monday morning, while I was at work, she called me with severe abdominal pain. I took her to a medical centre in Warkworth, where we were advised to go straight to hospital.
Doctors discovered that Mum had pancreatitis caused by gallstones. She underwent blood tests, scans, an endoscopy and laparoscopic surgery to remove the stones and her gallbladder. After a week in hospital, she was finally able to come home.
We were incredibly thankful, but then we received the hospital bill: NZ$31,000
As a mum of three young children, with rent and everyday family expenses, this unexpected medical bill is more than we can manage on our own.
A churchmate encouraged me to create this fundraiser. Any amount, big or small, would mean so much to our family and help us towards Mum's hospital expenses. If you cannot donate, sharing this page or praying for Mum would also be a great blessing.
Through this difficult experience, I have seen God's goodness through the doctors, nurses and people who supported us. Most importantly, Mum is home and recovering, and we are grateful for every day we have together.
Thank you for reading our story, for your prayers, kindness and generosity. May God bless you and your family abundantly.
The funds raised will be used to help pay my mum’s NZ$31,000 hospital and medical expenses following her emergency treatment, surgery and week-long hospital stay in New Zealand.
