Help My Wife Ma. Luisa Battle Against Cervical Stage 4 Cancer

$8,355 of $75,000 goal
Given by 247 generous donors in one year

I am knocking on your generous hearts for your love and support my wife to fight against the cervical cancer in the Philippines.

Nelson / Tasman

My wife Ma. Luisa was diagnosed just 6 months ago with cervical cancer which has significantly affected her health. From December last year, she has undergone series of medical procedures to aid with her treatment. She had chemotherapy and radiation therapy which were successfully tolerated. However, last Sunday 17/May/2020 she developed increasing shortness of breath and water retention. The doctors have diagnosed Acute Kidney Injury likely secondary to side effects and disease progression. This has worsened her condition which warranted dialysis to drain the toxic out of her system. They have also found an obstruction on her cervix and intestines. As a result, she's unable to defecate and urinate. The doctors have recommended create a permanent passage in the abdomen.

In a turn of event, my wife suddenly lost her consciousness last night 19/May/2020. She had to be resuscitated and mechanically ventilated. Her body was in a state of Metabolic Acidosis wherein there is too much acid and not enough buffer in the system which can be lethal.

At the moment, Ma Luisa has a 24/7 special nurse in a private room in because the intensive care unit is currently unavailable.

My family is now under massive financial stress and pressure to support her hospital bills in the Philippines. That’s why I’m writing this letter to get some help for my wife to fight against the cancer. I’m currently here in New Zealand working as a Chef in Nelson (Styx Restaurant), I’m on a working visa but unable to make enough funds to support her. The COVID situation has also greatly impacted my job and our financial situation in general. Therefore, I am knocking on your generous hearts for your love and support.
