Help needed for Prabhupada disciple

    Gaura Prabhu sent me a message this am

    ‘ Vanessa, I just got the last of the repairs done today, just before leaving on a 7 hr drive to do kirtan in Montreal and give a talk at Bishop's University

    I paid the van repair man Justine today $ 1450 to do the struts and alignment and a couple of days ago $ 900 for the brake job and oil change. Thank you again for doing the Fund Raiser. When I get bills like that, they are quite a shock. Good think I live near a grocery store dumpster, and save a little for repairs like this. Srila Prabhupada said living in the material world means one shock after the next! He told me I could have had an accident due to less control on the vehicle due to one strut being finished and the other one weak, so you may have saved my life 🙂 🙏’

    So thank you each and everyone of you that contributed and made this possible.

  • Gaura’s update today

    ‘I went to a gas station to distribute the Bhagavad-Gita, and I met a nice gentleman, Harsh Patel. He said he listens to Srila Prabhupad‘s lectures, which, brought me joy to hear. I presented Srila Prabhupada’s Bhagavad-Gita to him in English, and he said he would prefer to have it in Hindi or Gujarati, so I will have to go back sometime and provide that to him. It is below zero when I go to take rest in my van at night so I asked him if he knew of anyone I could stay with, and he directed me to the Sookham Vegan Restaurant,  in Hamilton, OMarriott. where I Mr. Patel invited me to take rest‘

    ‘ I'm finishing loading up my sankirtan van this morning, and hope to distribute Srila Prabhupada's books, braving the freezing weather until New Years if my health holds up. I have lots of wool blankets. I'm taking a much-needed break from social media. I hope everyone is able to distribute a few books and experience the bliss of sankirtan during this special time of the year. Srila Prabhupada's Christmas Marathon ki jai!‘

    We have now reached over a thousand nzd which is so wonderful! This shows if we all work together like Prabhupada wanted then wonderful things can be achieved. We still a way off the goal so please share the link if you can.

    Thank you all for your generosity and kind support this far we have nearly raised $500 towards the goal. Which is so encouraging to Gaura das he is very touched and overwhelmed with the kindness as well as feeling very encouraged that to go on sankirtan and help to give the lost souls of Kali Yuga the method to end all means Of suffering and to develop love of God. Param vijayate Sankirtanam- total world victory of Hare Krishna !

    THE SEVEN PURPOSES OF ISKCON

    1. To systematically propagate spiritual knowledge to society at large and to educate all people in the techniques of spiritual life in order to check the imbalance of values in life and to achieve real unity and peace in the world.

    2. To propagate a consciousness of Krishna (God), as it is revealed in the great scriptures of India, Bhagavad-gita, and Srimad-Bhagavatam.

    3. To bring the members of the Society together with each other and nearer to Krishna, the prime entity, thus developing the idea within the members, and humanity at large, that each soul is part and parcel of the quality of Godhead (Krishna).

    4. To teach and encourage the sankirtana movement, congregational chanting of the holy name of God, as revealed in the teachings of Lord Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu.

    5. To erect for the members and for society at large a holy place of transcendental pastimes dedicated to the personality of Krishna.

    6. To bring the members closer together for the purpose of teaching a simpler, more natural way of life.

    7. With a view toward achieving the aforementioned purposes, to publish and distribute periodicals, magazines, books, and other writings.
