    Hello everyone

Givealittle suggested we post a final update. Perfect timing, Rodger also had his final check-up with Dr Ben on Tuesday.

Here he is pictured sleeping his sedation off at home - he decided to join life again at dinner time, bless his heart!

He enjoyed a nice sedated nap while he had a few x-rays to check on his bone healing.

All is looking as it should be! Technical terms beyond me, but overall his bone is knitting together, plate & screws all were they should be!

Rodger can increase his exercise, but will still be onleash to toilet etc for another 8 weeks, no middle-aged running about just yet.

    All in all, positive news!

A final thank you to everyone, your kindness will always be appreciated & remembered x

    Hey team

I didn't know that I could pop back to update once Rodgers page had closed!

Rodger had his second TPLO 14th August - thanks to everyone on his team.

He has been doing well so far, getting cabin fever ( its been a long journey) but taking it all in his stride!

4/5 week check-up on 18th Sept. Then will have his sedated x-ray recheck around week 8.

Once again, thank you for being part of Rodgers team xox

Hey team - just a quick update

Rodgers 4week check-up with Dr Ben went smoothly & stress-free.

All is looking good so far!

We will touch base with Rodgers surgical nurse & hopefully book him in for 14th August, this will be 8week post op x-ray, which should ideally show enough healing to move through for next surgery that same day.

Woohoo! Rodger has been given the OK be allowed 2x 10min footpath walks up until his next surgery, obviously still on leash to toilet & no silly buggers! (then we go back to full rest again)

He will appreciate the change of scenery for sure!

If you would like any further updates, please feel welcome to touch base via Facebook (Nikki Miller or Greg Miller) we would love to keep you in the loop if interested.

Without your support, this wouldn't be possible.

    Thanks a mill & beyond everyone 🩷

  • Thanks for being part of Rodgers team!

Rodger has his week 4 check-up tomorrow.

Hopefully with his chill protocol meds, he is relaxed enough to visit Dr Ben again, otherwise Dr Ben is happy to do consult via carpark to keep Rodgers anxiety down.

We will then know if Rodger will have his x-ray in another 2 weeks (6wk post op) or 4 weeks (8wk post op), the bone from 1st surgery should ideally show enough healing to move through for the next TPLO/round 2.

Thanks again for being part of our team during this journey - the kindness shown, each and every donation in support of round 2, trade-me purchases, all the words of encouragement

    Thanks a mill & beyond x

Rodger out for a Sunday drive to break up the boredom with his Dad.

Rodger is a professional napper at the best of times, however getting out & about does the mind the world of good.

    Mostly cone-free & doing well!

4 week check-up scheduled for next Thursday.

We will update on his 4 week check-up before his page closes the following day.

Once again thank you all for your kindness & ongoing support!

  • Woohoo - week 2!

    Woohoo good news!

    Rodger has reached week 2.

He has been given the OK by his surgical nurse to remove his cone while supervised (he can ditch it all together week 3!)

Next check with surgeon is week 4 & then week 6-8 x-ray to check healing is on track, to hopefully move through for round 2.

Sooner this is done & dusted, the better!

This is a long recovery, especially surgery in 2 stages. (approx 14 -16 weeks of restrictions after final surgery). Lucky he is such a trooper!

We appreciate all the support from our friends - and friends of friends via sharing - we see you! beyond words, we are humbled as.

We were prepared for his first surgery - but the second wasn't financially viable.

Without you guys where would we be?!

    Up shit creek 😅

    Thanks a mill x

Everyone's words of encouragement has meant the world to us.
