Help us achieve our goal of taking Nik on a supported holiday to Whanganui.
Wellington
Nikolas Androutsos is a vibrant, colourful character living in the eastern suburbs of central Wellington. Nik has a complex intellectual disability and is also profoundly deaf. It's not easy for Nik to get out and about in the community and he requires support at all times to go out on activities and to live a fulfilling life. Nik's staff work hard alongside him to ensure that he has a decent quality of life and most importantly - fun.
This year we have put together a plan for Nik to be able to go away on a supported holiday to Whanganui. While this doesn't seem far, there is a lot involved in taking Nik out of his home town. He requires two staff to support him in the community at all times and also needs help make this holiday financially viable. Due to his circumstances, Nik is unable to work at all and needs extra help from his community to go on this adventure. We have planned to take Nik swimming, jet boating and have even found a motel with a nice spa - Nik loves feeling heat so he will really love this.
If you can contribute in any way - large or small, both myself and Nik would be truly thankful.
I am a support worker that works works with Nikolas. Nik has a complex level of autism and is profoundly deaf.
The funds that we raise will go towards food, accommodation, swimming, jet boating and towards any emergency expenses that we may encounter while away with Nik.
