  • Update: Noel’s Surgery & Recovery – A Journey of Resilience 🙏

    We’re so relieved and grateful to share that Noel underwent his surgery in early June. What was meant to be a one-hour procedure turned into a 3.5-hour operation due to unexpected complications — surgeons discovered overgrown bone that needed to be carefully addressed. It was more complex than anyone anticipated, but thankfully, the medical team did an incredible job.

    Noel is now recovering well. He has started walking again and is gradually easing back into light daily chores. Every small step forward feels like a big victory — and he remains in good spirits, deeply thankful for the love and support he’s received.

    Because the surgery was ultimately performed through the public health system, as previously mentioned, the funds raised will be donated to the Lighthouse Centre — a cause Noel truly believes in — once he has regained enough strength to personally manage the banking.

    Your generosity helped carry him through an incredibly tough time. From Noel and all of us — thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. ❤️

  • An Unexpected Blessing! 🎉

    We’ve been pushing to get Noel’s treatment sorted privately, but life had other plans! Out of the blue, Palmerston North Hospital reached out, and Noel now has an appointment on 21 March to review his situation. From there, they’ll decide on a date for surgery, which is likely to happen in 6-8 weeks.

    Given this development, it makes sense for us to wait and see how this unfolds, as it would be a more convenient and cost-effective option. Fingers crossed everything falls into place! 🤞 We’ll have a clearer picture next week after his appointment and will then decide what to do with the funds raised.

  • Exciting News – Appointment Secured! 🎉

    We’re thrilled to share that Noel has secured an appointment in Auckland in just 3 weeks' time on 18 March! This is a huge step forward on his journey to walk again, pain-free.

    Depending on the results of this appointment, surgery is expected to take place 2-4 weeks later, also in Auckland. This brings us closer to giving back to a man who has given so much to others.

    We’re beyond grateful for the incredible support so far — every share, donation, and kind message has helped us reach this point. Let’s keep the momentum going as Noel gets closer to the life-changing surgery he deserves! 💛

    Thanks to your generosity, we have taken a significant step forward in Noel’s journey to a pain-free life. He is now in the process of being referred to a private specialist orthopaedic team in Palmerston North.

    We have received an estimate for the surgery, which includes a 3-5 day hospital stay and an anaesthesia specialist, amounting to approximately $33,500 ± $1,500.

    Some incredible souls have already pledged their support to help us get there, but we still need your kindness to cross the final hurdle.

    Noel has spent his life giving to others—now, it’s our turn to give back. Every contribution, big or small, brings him closer to walking again without pain. Let’s stand together and make this happen.
