North Shore United make semifinal of Chatham Cup, but have to fund our way to Wellington for the game ... please help us get the boys there.
Auckland
North Shore United have made the semifinals of the Chatham Cup, New Zealand's premier knockout tournament in men's football, for the first time since 2007. A fantastic achievement.
Unfortunately, today we draw Miramar Rangers of Wellington away and so in only two and a half weeks we need to get the team to Wellington for the match.
Surprisingly, NZ Football will only fund 20% of the travel and accommodation costs for the away teams. This means the club has to find the rest. The bill will be circa $10,000.
As an amateur sports club we don't have that sort of money sitting around and rely on the generosity of sponsors and charitable trust grants. With such short notice we can't apply for a grant so we have little choice but to ask for community / club member support to help get the boys on the pitch. Please give-a-little and help us get to the final.
North Shore United Football Club are a community based amateur sports club in Auckland.
Donations will be used to fund 80% of the travel and accommodation costs in getting our team to Wellington. The total bill will be circa $10,000. Any surplus will be invested in maintaining the club's facilities for the local communities enjoyment.
Thank you for the wonderful support 15 August 2021
The players, coaches and club volunteers who run the club and support our men's premier team would like to thank everyone who has donated via this page (or directly to the club) to support the boys getting to the Chatham Cup semi-final next Saturday. It's been wonderful to see the response.
We're still a bit short of our target so please share this page with friends who may be able to add their support.
