"Help nurse Courtney's ongoing battle with stage 3C breast cancer"

To my fellow humans,

My name is Courtney, and exactly 2 months after my 29th birthday I was diagnosed with stage 3C inflammatory HER2+ breast cancer and DCIS after finding a huge lump and skin discoloration.

My world was instantly flipped upside down, jumping into various scans, fertility preservation, 6 rounds of 2x chemo & 2x immunotherapy (12 infusions total) + another 2x immuno to come. As an RN who has spent 7.5 years caring for people with cancer it is absolutely surreal to be a patient myself.

One of the immunotherapies I require, Pertuzumab is not funded leaving $18,000 for 7 rounds for my family and I to cover. To focus on my health I've stopped working, my leave has ceased, I am now relying on savings for all my daily living in addition to the Pertuzumab costs.

As you can imagine this is a significant financial burden.

I had my 1st surgery and general anaesthetic ever to insert a portacath. I am on zoladex to preserve ovarian function inducing medical menopause.

Next step is surgery a modified radical mastectomy to remove my entire breast and all of my axillary lymphnodes. Followed by intensive radiation, ongoing immunotherapy for 6 months & +/- 9 months chemotherapy dependent on surgical pathology.

I'm not one to ask for help, thus it has taken a lot of courage. If you are in a position to donate in any capacity, I would be extremely grateful, this will help me immensely during this challenging time.
