Help Oliver get Top Surgery

As a trans man, an important step in fully affirming my gender is top surgery. I experience gender dysphoria, which for me is an intense feeling of discomfort with certain gendered parts of my body - which some days can even prevent me from leaving the house. Top surgery would be life-changing and allow me to feel more comfortable and confident as myself.

These surgeries are virtually never publicly funded in New Zealand, with the waitlist for public funding having been closed for years. I wasn't able to get on the public waitlist for Wellington before it closed so my only realistic option is to go private, which comes at a very steep cost. I recently had a consultation with a Wellington-based surgeon and received a quote of $25,000 to $30,000. The costs of these surgeries are only increasing.

I am hoping you can help me reach my goal of affording this surgery, which would have a monumental impact on my life. Every bit adds up so even small contributions would be greatly appreciated.
