The upstairs tamariki need a new PC! We use it daily to share family stories, use the microscope, listen to music…
Wellington
The upstairs tamariki need a new PC! The one we have currently is very outdated and only cooperates some of the time (if we are lucky).
We use the PC upstairs daily for a variety of purposes. Some of these include:
· Reading Learning Stories with tamariki to revisit learning. This encourages tamariki to continue building new pathways for new skills, to re-spark old learning interests and prompt ideas for further exploration. It also helps show them that their mahi here at Hill Street is valued, celebrated and remembered.
· Sharing Family moments! Accessing these on the PC with the tamariki is such a great way to support home to centre links.
· Research. Sometimes kaiako get questions that we can’t answer. We use the PC to show tamariki how you can investigate things you don’t know and use the internet purposefully.
· Watching videos and looking at images of events from around the world, especially those celebrated by whānau in the Hill Street community.
· The listening post is powered by the PC. This resource has been so valuable when the weather is wet to provide tamariki with story time during busy routine times and also as an opportunity to take time out of a sometimes very busy environment.
· Checking the weather and UV levels with tamariki.
· Using the microscope.
· Music!
Hill Street Early Childhood Education provides exceptional learning and development experiences for children aged six months to five years old.
A new PC that will be used for various activities with tamariki (music, research, check weather forecast, and so much more!)
