Help our Wairarapa College team get to Darwin!

Seven Wairarapa College students. One national title. One incredible opportunity to represent New Zealand.

We are the Wairarapa College Tournament of Minds STEM team – Sam, Isabelle, Robert, Vlad, Alby, Leo and Sevryn – and we’re thrilled to have won the New Zealand national final in Wellington, earning our place at the International Tournament of Minds Final in Darwin, Australia this October.

Tournament of Minds is a creative problem-solving competition where teams tackle challenging problems using creativity, critical thinking, teamwork and presentation skills. Our team competed in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) challenge, learning to solve problems, adapt, communicate and work together.

We’ve put in countless hours during lunchtimes, weekends and our spare time to get this far. Now we have the chance to take on teams from across Australia and beyond – and represent Wairarapa College, our community and Aotearoa New Zealand on the international stage.

Getting a team to Darwin at short notice comes with significant costs, so we’re asking our whānau, friends and wider community to help make this opportunity possible.
