Homeless kiwi man who suffers mental health issues - ROBBED of everything he owns at a campground
Auckland
Written by Paul's brother, Tim:
Paul, who suffers mental health issues and is currently homeless, was robbed at a campsite in Bay of Plenty last week of EVERYTHING he owns, several thousands of dollar’s worth of belongings, sentimental items, his tent, warm coats and even his food and cooking utensils. There is CCTV footage of the perpetrators who stole it all including their car license plate.
This was all reported to the police and subsequently AA insurance who my brother had been diligently paying premiums for a contents policy to despite his financial hardship.
AA have now decided to deny the claim on grounds that he was not ‘burgled’ because the definition of ‘burgled’ is that it is done by force, or by forced entry, which in a campground is impossible.
He is now sleeping in his car with nothing to his name, and no one to help him apart from small MSD checks for his food. He has NO way of replacing any of his much needed things or leaving Bay of Plenty.
Please help with any small donation to help Paul replace his much needed basic items.
This is a really bad situation for Paul, and has left him extremely vulnerable.
Thanks for any small help you can offer
Replacing items like his tent, cooking utensils, warm clothing and sleeping bags, food and safe accommodation.
