World Floorball Championship Qualifiers - Help Coach Pavol Nekl get there!
Nationwide
Pavol Nekl was appointed as the National Coach for the NZ Men's team at the beginning of 2017 and has been preparing the team for the World Floorball Championship (WFC) qualifiers which take place 22 – 28 January 2018 on Jeju Island in South Korea.
Pavol is based in Christchurch and throughout the year has travelled to Wellington (where the majority of national team players are located) at his own cost to run NZ training camps.
Floorball has been an important part of Pavol's life for more than 16 years, he brings a wealth of experience to the role as both player and coach. This includes playing in the national leagues of Czech Republic and competing against top teams in the Czech National Cup. Pavol holds a coaching licence and has coached FBC Prerov’s men’s and junior teams, his current team in Christchurch and now the NZ men’s team.
Already Pavol’s preparation and coaching of the team has seen it raise its potential giving NZ a real chance to ace the regional qualifiers and make it through to compete against the world’s best teams at the WFC in Czech Republic.
Like most NZ sports, Floorball is heavily reliant on fundraising and volunteers. The National team Coach is a voluntary role and as such Pavol covers his own travel, accommodation, food and general expenses. Whilst Pavol continues to work hard to save, costs are substantial and are around $3500 for just the flights, food and accommodation, this doesn’t include the travel and expenses which Pavol has already covered personally to get to Wellington for all previous training camps.
Any donations to assist Pavol with his costs would be greatly welcomed and appreciated, he has worked hard to get the team to this position.
I am a player for the NZ team. We as a team have seen first hand the preparation, effort and cost a that Pavol has put into the team.
