  • Six months on and still missing home

It's been awhile since we last updated, so here's a small insight from RNZ.

The main focus has been on settling the children into their new norm and finding the next new chapter in the journey.

The biggest challenges now are trying to keep up with all the zoning decisions, the ins and outs of property and insurance law and legalities, council regulations and rulings... it's a whole new world learning a multitude of new professions!

Thanks again for your thoughts, messages and support.

  • We found 'Red', but he's had a rough ride...

Thank you all so much for your support. It means so much to our family and we feel we are not alone in this journey.

We continue to find some little treasures like 'Red', the little firetruck that all the cousins took turns to push each other around on... but he's a little worse for wear without his steering wheel!

We've found the last two vehicles back over the wrong side of the stop bank - those too are in less than ideal shape and scrapped.

Thank you also to our lovely Puketapu community who provide us with strength and belonging.

Please continue to share our story if you can. Every bit of support is needed and means everything to us.

  • Progress and treasure hunting continues...

Thank you so much again for your support, every little bit has made a world of difference to us.

We have a long road to recovery ahead, so please share our story as much as you can - unfortunately our plea for support is drying up as fast as the silt!

Our hunting for treasures continues and we've found one of our storage containers almost 6km down river. Unfortunately, the holes punched through it from logs and the twisted shape has meant that only a handful of items were retrievable from inside.

We were also happy to find one of our vehicles less than 2km away, over a bank and under trees. This helps with our insurance claims immensely - not so much for the other vehicles that are simply gone and we have no evidence of their whereabouts!

Thank you so so much. Please share our story. Kia kaha.

We are so grateful for your donation and the support from the community. We've been homed, clothed, fed and the kids are back at school. Yay!

The hard work continues, digging out anything we can salvage, searching for anything recoverable and finding some treasures... here's a lovely photo of a treasure thankfully found by the community.

Unfortunately this also confirms our belongings are spread more than 5kms down river.

Thank you so much everyone. Please share our story and help us on our journey, you've made a huge difference already. Kia kaha.
