You'll remember that Emma had her leg amputated on the 28th July after suffering from a severe fracture. She is now 3 weeks post surgery and is unbelievably almost ready for adoption!

Emma is a super affectionate kitten who loves nothing more than human contact. She purrs loudly whilst lapping up neck scratches and enjoys a cuddle on the bed. During the day Emma plays with her toys, and loves relaxing in a sunny spot in the house. One of her favourite pastimes is to sit on the windowsill and watch the world go by.

We would like to thank the many incredible donors who's helped get her to where she is today, our Lonely Miaow medical partners and supporters who have helped with treatment for Emma, we would especially like to thank her dedicated foster mum.

These are the happy endings that make our jobs so worthwhile. Keep you eye on our website for advert when she is ready for adoption should you wish to be considered as her furrever home xxx

  • Update on Emma

      29 July 2020

You'll remember when wee Emma came into our care recently with a horribly broken femur and was in desperate need of urgent medical attention. Our amazing friends at Pakuranga Vet Clinic and Veterinary Associates Takanini came on board with significantly discounted treatment and an outstanding level of care, under which she had been making progress.

Unfortunately Emma has had some complications this week, which have increased her vet care costs beyond our initial estimate as they tried again to save her leg; then today, despite their very best efforts, they made the medical decision to amputate.

Whilst not the outcome we wanted for her, it is the best for her in the long run to reduce her pain and give her the best chance for recovery.

We are so incredibly grateful for your donations that helped her get the care she needed and for the dedicated team at Pak Vets and VAT for all that they do for us. Thank you everyone!!!

(We have a video of Emma finding her purr on our facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/LonelyMiaow )
