We want to build a new garage behind the existing Fire Station so we can house an Operational Support Vehicle.

Otago

Port Chalmers Volunteer Fire Brigade is proposing to build a New Garage on the land behind the current Fire Station.

The garage will be used to house an Operation Support Vehicle and also provide hose storage giving the current Fire station more room to facilitate medical supplies and training.

Port Chalmers Brigade currently have 18 volunteers who are on call 24/7. We are classed as a First Response station meaning me are called out to medical events along with St John, this is due to the delay for an Ambulance to respond from Dunedin.

We attend approximately 200 calls for service a year with majority being medical events. By having the flexibility to accomodate another vehicle this would increase our response and ability to serve the community we are here to protect.

About us

Established in 1876 Port Chalmers Volunteer Fire Brigade are First Responders to the West Harbour community.

Use of funds

The money raised from this appeal would go directly toward the cost of constructing the Proposed New Garage. Any additional funding would rollover toward purchasing the Operational Support Vehicle.
