During the severe storm in October 2025 St Mary's Church was moved 500mm off it's piles. This beloved church is located in Waikawa, The Catlins and is 98 years old. There is no other damage and if the church can be repiled it can continue to be a valuable historical asset in the area. Along with the Waikawa Museum nearby it attracts a lot of visitors both domestic and overseas.

About us

The 98 year old former St Mary's Anglican Church is owned by the Waikawa Museum in The Catlins, Southland. During the severe storm in October 2025 it was moved 500mm off it's piles and needs to be repiled. Your donations will help make this happen.

Use of funds

All funds raised will go towards repiling the church.
