    Hollywood actor and director Mel Gibson has publicly weighed in on New Zealand's gene technology law changes, shedding light on what's being proposed and urging people to look into it for themselves. It's a huge boost for getting this issue seen by people who'd otherwise never hear about it.

    And the timing matters: the ACVM Amendment Bill - one of the three bills reshaping our gene technology rules - has its final reading in Parliament tomorrow.
