Our beautiful, young mum Claudia, has been known to put others ahead of her needs, now her family needs your help to get through losing her.
Auckland
2020 has been an extremely tough year for many, but Claudia and her family have been hit especially hard. A little less than 3 years ago, at only 45 years old Claudia found a lump in her breast and so went and had it checked. She was diagnosed with breast cancer and rapidly underwent surgery. Claudia is a mum to two beautiful children, Lucy (11) and Seth (14) and she has been incredibly courageous, juggling family and work commitments over the past 3 years. Her cancer seemed to have gone away for a period of time but sadly came back a few months ago. With the ramifications of the pandemic hitting the family hard, she has kept working until she was able to and doing her best to make sure her family keeps functioning as normal as possible. But it's been exhausting and a huge challenge. Sadly, Claudia lost her battle with breast cancer on 16 December 2020.
Claudia has been a much loved teacher aide at Flanshaw Road School, in Te Atatu. Taky, Claudia's husband, and her children need your help to manage financially to get through this difficult time without financial burden on their shoulders.
You may know Claudia and her family through her involvement with her children's schools, and sports, as both children are amazing athletes and love their sport. Lucy is a student at Matipo Primary and Seth at Te Atatu Intermediate. Lucy's passion is cheerleading and she has been an elite cheerleader at Allstar Mystix and Legacy gyms where many parents and coaches would know Claudia from her involvement. Seth is a BMX competitor and current U15 National Champion in Down Hill Mountain Biking.
Claudia would be known to many as the sweetest, kindest human being who would put everyone else’s need first before her own. I am sure there will be so many of you out there who would want to support this beautiful human being and her family and giving would be a great way to do that.
If you have anything to give, we welcome any donations to support the family get through these challenging times.
Jo and I met Claudia through our daughters cheerleading and have become very close friends. My daughter Nina is also best friends with Claudia's daughter Lucy. Without Claudia's help over the years my daughter may have had to give up her much loved sport.
Everything will go towards making sure that Claudia and her family can cover costs including mortgage payments, food, and keep their lives including their kids' life functioning as normally as possible during these times.
NZ Herald is paying tribute to Claudia 22 December 2020
