Thanks everyone for your kind donations.

The money now has been transferred to pay vet bills for Maeve, Mya and Henry.

The girls will be closely monitored for the rest of their likely short lives 😢

Please pray that they get to live a few years at least! 🙏💔

  • Update from Mya and Maeves parents

Thank you to the kind people who donated to Henry when we lost him two weeks ago. We have now found out that he suffered from HCM (Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy) a congenital heart condition known as an enlarged heart muscle disease.

Since getting his sisters Mya and Maeve tested, we’ve found out that sadly they both have this condition too, and it’s not looking good 💔

We are doing all we can to research this so they can live long, healthy and happy lives. So far the vet has said some cats have lived with this condition for up to 8yrs, but judging from the size of their hearts in particular it’s unlikely this will be the case for them.. We may only have them for another week, a month, or a year...they could decline slowly over the course of a few hours or they could simply be gone in an instant. We just don’t know. 😓

We now monitor daily their weight changes, breathing patterns, and movement in the back legs- this is where signs of blood clots often show up. We have to make sure we keep their stress levels low, so we no longer have groups of visitors at home. If anything happens to them that requires anaesthetic, they won’t make it.

Unfortunately over these last few days Mya has been displaying some worrying signs, showing a respiratory rate twice the normal rate of breaths per minute, and walking differently with her back legs. She may not see out the month, but we’d really like to get a second opinion and some more help with the research around this, so if you could please share this link below or donate to help us with their care, check ups, testing, possible blood thinner medication, specialised food, and care if the worst is to happen, we would really appreciate anything that can be given their way as all Pet insurance excludes congenital defects. They deserve to get a shot at some wonderful years ahead of them if they can. Please help. ❤️

  • Ultrasound scans for girls

      16 February 2019

Maeve and Mya had their scans on Thursday and unfortunately the news wasn't good 💔

They both have the same congenital heart issue as Henry has. 😭

Maeve’s heart is worse than Mya’s, her right ventricle is 5 times bigger than it should be 💔

Vet said they could live long lives or they could have maybe a year left or they could drop at any moment, there’s just not enough research on this condition to know for sure

It's a very heartbreaking time and wish there was some way to fix them.

Thank you to those who have donated, its been a very expensive week for the owners from the moment Henry fell ill.

Please share this link so we can raise more to cover the costs as pet insurance excludes congenital defects 💔

  • Henry's autopsy

      10 February 2019

On Tuesday Henry was given an autopsy and was quickly diagnosed with an enlarged heart.

After having desex surgery the week before, this would have put a huge burden on his already frail heart so then fluid built up his lungs and was nothing that could have been done to save him. 😭

Due to this result its extremely important for his sisters to get ultrasounds to check if they also have the same congenital heart defect.

Ultrasound is not cheap and is not covered by insurance so please help donate. Every penny helps
