Support the return of a vibrant weekly night market to Wellington CBD, bringing together local food, culture and community.
Wellington
My name is Keny, and I’m the person behind Welly Night Market. I started this project because I believed Wellington deserved a regular night market again—a welcoming place where people could eat, connect and discover local businesses.
What visitors see is a lively market filled with food, music and people. Behind the scenes, I personally coordinate the sites, vendors, infrastructure, compliance, rubbish, promotion and weekly operations. I have invested a huge amount of my own time, energy and resources into building the market from the ground up.
I’m incredibly proud of what we have created so far, but running the market independently while carrying most of the upfront costs has become increasingly difficult—particularly as we work to rebuild public awareness and consistent foot traffic.
Funds raised through this page will be reinvested directly into Welly Night Market. They will help strengthen our electrical and site infrastructure, cover essential operating costs and promote the market to a wider audience.
My goal is not simply to run another temporary event. It is to build a sustainable weekly platform where independent food vendors, makers and performers can trade, test new ideas and grow.
Welly Night Market may have started as my project, but I hope it can become something Wellington feels belongs to everyone.
Thank you for helping us rebuild Wellington’s night market.
The money will help cover safe, reliable power, market site hire, waste collection and promotion to bring more people into the CBD. If we don’t reach our target, we’ll prioritise power and essential site costs.
