Please help our Dalmatian Chewie walk again!
Aongatete, Bay of Plenty
On Friday, June 19th, 2026, at 3 p.m., our precious 11-year-old Dalmatian, Chewie, was hit by a car in a devastating accident. He ran into the driveway just as a vehicle was coming through. Miraculously, he survived, but he suffered a dislocated hip, a fractured pelvis, and a serious laceration on his leg, along with many scrapes and bruises. He came so close to not making it.
Chewie now faces a long, careful recovery. We have to make sure he doesn’t re-injure his hip, and there will be extensive rehab ahead. Our children are heartbroken—especially our two autistic kids, for whom Chewie is such a comforting part of their world. With the ongoing care Chewie needs, it’s becoming a financial strain for us, as so much of our resources already go toward supporting them.
If you can help us in any way—whether by donating or simply sharing Chewie’s story—we would be forever grateful. Every bit will go directly to his vet care, ensuring he can heal and stay strong by our side.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for listening and for any support you can offer. We truly appreciate it. ❤️
The funds will be used to front vet bills and pay for ongoing treatment as we have them back to where he was before this terrible accident.
Thank you so much 💕
