After a tough battle with cancer, Nemani Waka has sadly passed away. We are wanting to support his partner Francesca in his repatriation from France to Fiji.
All odds are against us now, especially with the Covid lockdown in Fiji and this costing roughly $15k. We are kindly asking for any donations or koha to help relieve the financial stress involved. All funds raised will be sent directly to Nemani's partner and family, in getting him home.
An outstanding athlete and much valued teammate, Nemani had a successful rugby union career, taking him from Fiji, to Wellington and then to France. It was shortly into his time with Rouen Normandy Rugby that Nemani began his battle with cancer, of which he fought like a true warrior.
Anyone who was lucky enough to brush shoulders with Nemani would be able to tell you that he truly was a gentle-giant. He was calm, kind, compassionate, softly-spoken, and had a heart of gold.
Whether you shared the field with Nemani, worked with him, are friends of the family, or simply wish to help - please know that your contribution does not go unnoticed. Vinaka vakalevu for your support.
Nemani's partner is one of my closest friends. This truly breaks my heart and I wish to help in any way that I can.
Nemani's repatriation from France to Fiji. If however, the Covid lockdown in Fiji doesn't permit this, all funds raised will be sent to Nemani's loving partner Francesca and family in Fiji.
