I had been meaning to post an update but was a bit lost for words when it came to typing the update. Our hearts are very broken and it’s hard to come to terms that RJ is no longer with us, he passed away on the 31st of August. He put up an incredible fight right until the bitter end. We are eternally grateful to Rei Kōtuku (paediatric palliative care charity) for allowing us to have RJ at home until his final moments. Allowing him to be in a space he wanted to be in and ensuring he held onto his dignity. We will always be in awe of the amount of strength and courage that RJ had within and will continue to talk about him daily and share memories. He may be gone but will never be forgotten ❤️

Thank you to everyone who has donated so RJ can live his best life, you'll be pleased to hear he has been doing just that! RJ went to his first ever concert and has had the privilege of meeting of his favourite celebrity SZA! She literally made his year and invited him to spend time with her the day following the concert. She had also passed RJ's details onto J Cole who then facetimed RJ. J Cole has gotten RJ in touch with a biologist over in LA who has done a lot of study and research on a cleanse that has helped a lot of people overcome their sickness. RJ is willing to try anything if it means he will be around longer and better yet completely healed. You all know that we have been desperate for a miracle and we truly feel the events leading up to finding out about this cleanse have been exactly that. So here is to miracles and healing!!!

  • First ever concert!!!

      27 March 2024

Thank you to everyone that has sent well wishes, have kept RJ in their prayers and donated! RJ is going to his first concert in a couple of weeks thanks to you all! He will be attending the SZA concert in Auckland and he honestly cannot wait! Yesterday he had a full body MRI to see how the cancer is responding to the radiation and chemo that he has had. He has had to have a few blood transfusions and platelets since the last update which is hard to avoid when having chemo. More chemo next week, and will know more once we get the results of the MRI that was done yesterday. Thank you guys for the continued love and support ❤️❤️❤️

  • First lot of treatment done and dusted

      8 February 2024

Rj has completed his 5 days of radiation and 3 days of chemo. Next lot of chemo will be in 2 weeks. From what I can remember I don’t think he will be having any more radiation at this stage. Rj has opted to have treatment here in Wellington as well as wanting to be home as much as possible, as opposed to being admitted to hospital and we as his family support that 100%. The aim of treatment is to keep the pain to a minimal and to improve his quality of life, although we are still hopeful that our prayers for a miracle will be answered.
