Tauranga, Bay Of Plenty

Friends, Family, and Kind-Hearted Supporters,

I need your help for my son, Roarke, who is battling Juvenile Nasopharyngeal Angiofibroma (JNA). This rare tumor is not only preventing him from breathing through his nose but also causing severe nosebleeds, debilitating headaches, and sleepless nights. Roarke urgently needs life-changing surgery.

Roarke is a brave, cheeky and vibrant young boy who dreams of a normal childhood. At such a young age, he has already faced more challenges than most of us could imagine. Despite the obstacles he's encountered, Roarke has always worn a smile on his face, filling our lives with love and laughter. However, JNA has made every breath a struggle, overshadowed by exhaustion and discomfort. With your support, I can provide Roarke with the surgery he needs to breathe freely and relieve his symptoms.

The key to transforming Roarke's life lies in an urgent, specialized surgical procedure that can remove the JNA tumor and restore his ability to breathe freely. We have already secured part of the funding for the surgery, but we need your help to cover the remaining $17,000. As Roarke's mum, I am determined to do everything in my power to provide him with the best possible care and a chance at a brighter future.

Please contribute, share this page, and keep Roarke in your thoughts. Your compassion and generosity will make a profound difference in his life.

Thank you from the depths of my heart,

With heartfelt gratitude, Heather (Roarke's mum)

Post Surgery update... what a ride.  14 November 2023

Roarkeys surgery ended up taking a whopping 8 hours but the surgeons are confident the tumor has been fully removed. Unfortunately 5 days post surgery Roarke suffered a stroke (caused from some embolization particles making its way into his brain) where he was air lifted to Starship Hospital. He has since been discharged and is making huge steps in regaining the sensation in his right side as well as speech! Thank you all so much for your generous support we couldn't of done it without you all and to all the people who have kept in touch with either myself or close family for updates and sending love. Despite the bumpy road we've had we are on the road to recovery. I am so amazed at how resilient Roarke is and how much better his breathing is. Much love Heather and Roarke.
