Help Robert fight his way out of hospital & back to health

  • The journey continues: Hopefully home by Christmas – 6 months later...

      9 October 2025

Kia ora koutou. Robby's long journey continues. He has been in hospital around four months now, with a form of rheumatoid arthritis and other complications slowing his recovery.

This has been a massive time, and through it all the whānau, Francis and Len at home in the Far North and mum at the hospital, have been his anchors.

We are hoping to provide some relief by reaching $3000-5000 total to help Robert focus on his recovery and not on bills which are still racking up in the background. The doctors have said he will likely be a couple of months away from leaving the hospital; by that stage he will have been in there for 6 months.

Thanks so much to all who have given so far. He (and the whānau) appreciates it so much!

  • Update from Mum - Monday 21st July

      21 July 2025

Exciting news whanau Rob is able to pull himself up and sit on the side of the bed now. He still can’t quite pull himself up to stand but according to the Physio team he is making amazing progress. They are pleased and he will definitely be going to Rehab to get moving as soon as they have an open space yah to that and they are quite open to me being with him there as well. So just waiting now.

Really good news. He’s determined to walk out of the hospital just like he walked in. Except he will be healthy when he walks out. ❤😷🫂🧡💕👄👍🏼❤‍🩹🌈
