Help Rose Continue Her Fight Against Terminal Stage 4 Breast Cancer
Huntly, Waikato
Dear friends and whānau,
We are reaching out on behalf of our beautiful friend, Rose, who has recently received the heartbreaking news that her breast cancer is now terminal and incurable.
After fighting cancer before with incredible courage, it has returned & spread throughout her body. It has metastasised to her lungs, bones—including her breastbone, ribs and spine—her scalp, & more than 23 other areas on her skin.
She is now receiving ongoing treatment on a 25-days-on, 7-days-off cycle, which is expected to continue for the rest of her life. While the treatment aims to slow the cancer & help manage her symptoms, it is not expected to cure it.
Rose is one of the kindest & most caring person you could ever meet. She has dedicated herself to caring for others & while working at a Rest Home, always putting residents before herself. Sadly, because of increasing pain, fatigue & the demands of her treatment, she has to leave the job she loves.
As a proud Māori woman, Rose has always been independent & never expected others to carry her burdens. Unfortunately, she has no KiwiSaver or financial safety net to help with the enormous costs that now lie ahead.
Despite this diagnosis, Rose has not given up hope.
Alongside her oncology treatment, she hopes to seek additional medical opinions & complementary treatment options.
Thank you for taking the time to read Rose’s story and for standing beside her during the most difficult journey of her life.
Rose is our work colleague in a Rest Home. In the almost 2 years that she's worked with us, we've seen her kind heart and compassion for the residents. We hope to support her in this difficult journey she is facing & allow her to fight for her life.
Our goal is to help cover specialist consultations, travel, accommodation and unfunded treatment-related expenses. Every dollar raised will help give Rose the opportunity to explore every possible avenue and focus on spending precious time with those she loves.
