Help Sam and his family fight cancer

    It is with broken hearts that we share our beautiful Sam passed away on the 26th of August. On behalf of Sam, our families and myself we thank you with all our hearts for all your donations, messages and support.

    Because of you Sam was able to fight this cancer with everything available and unfortunately, it was too aggressive and did not respond to the treatment quickly enough. He passed quickly at home, surrounded by love, in the arms of his family.

    It is hard for me to comprehend the endless amounts of bravery and determination that Sam showed during this journey. From the moment he was diagnosed to the moment he passed his concern was always for his family and to be there for our daughter Athena.

    Sam is the love of my life, and our life together has been full of unconditional love, laughter and happiness. He loved his mum Yvonne, father Woody and brother Liam, very much. Family has always been the most important thing to him.

    Any remaining funds and future donations will go towards paying remaining medical bills and cremation costs. If you have the means to donate further this will go towards Athenas future and supporting us as we adjust to the financial impact of a lost income.

    We celebrated Sam's life with close friends and family the weekend of his passing.

    We love you and miss you unbearably Sam. We are so very proud of you and live to honor your magnificent life.

    We are sorry to stress anyone out with the most recent update. We see our amazing oncologist next week and hope to continue the chemo once Sam's liver recovers - tentatively booked in for later in the week. Lots of love, and we will update when we can; things can change fast around here :)

  • Sam & Jaz got married! & an update

    Update from us, Sam and I got married! It was a beautiful and intimate ceremony on our back deck in the afternoon sun. We have recently celebrated with our close friends and family. In regards to Sam's health, his treatment has been paused due to his liver not functioning well enough to receive chemotherapy. He has also had a fractured vertebrae in his back which he has been enduring with such stoicism. You are just amazing Sam. We are taking it one day at a time over here. Thank you so much for your ongoing support and donations. They continue to help us every day with ongoing medical and living costs. To lighten that burden for us is incredible. Lots of love.   • New treatment option and updated goal

    Hi everyone,

    Tash here on behalf of Jaz and Sam. If you saw Jaz's most recent update on here you'll know that Sam isn't responding to the chemotherapy and the cancer has spread to his lungs. The next option is a drug called Trastuzumab Deruxtecan and costs $13,000 per cycle with 10 cycles to complete. This is the reason for the updated give a little goal, to reflect these ongoing costs.

    Thank you immensely to everyone who has donated and shared. They are incredibly grateful, and so am I.

    Please continue to do what you can to help them reach their new goal.

  • Some really shit news

    The words thank you don’t feel like the correct weight to convey how grateful we have been for the continuous donations, shares and messages. We see them all and we have just felt so much love, please forgive a late update- it’s been a time! Unfortunately we received bad news this week. The chemotherapy is not working and Sams cancer has spread to his lungs. However, we have one last chance to fight. We used some of this givealittle money to do a biomarker test which showed a mutation in his tumor. There is an unfunded chemo available that targets this specific mutation and might work. The drug is called Trastuzumab Deruxtecan and costs $13,000 per cycle, 10 cycles to complete if it works. This leaves us at least another $70,000 to raise so even though it is so uncomfortable for us to ask and we already have been given so much we plead that you please share this page as far and wide as you can so that we have the resources to keep fighting for Sam. Our hearts are shattered and we are terrified but determined. As always we are so grateful, more than we can say. All our love Jaz, Sam and Athena

    We have been absolutely blown away by the generosity and support of our community. We have been in disbelief- followed quickly by waves of relief! Sam has started his second round of chemotherapy this week and is tolerating it well so far. We are determined for good results. Thank you, thank you. Love, Sam and Jaz
