Help save Black Cat

  • Report from Wgtn Kennels & Cattery

      6 May 2019

"Blackie is doing really well, very friendly, loves to be brushed and will sit on my knee for extended periods of time. He is still scoffing his food though, and that may be a result of periods of time where he has been without food. I am monitoring this, as we don't want him to become obese. I am sure he will make someone a lovely companion."

  • Black Cat has left the SPCA

Today we collected Black Cat from the SPCA. He's looking much healthier and happier. He's been neutered and had some dental work done, otherwise is in good health.

The vets estimate him to be eight years old, which was a surprise. He's obviously not feral, so who once owned this beautiful cat and didn't have him neutered? Anyway, he's a healthy 5.3 kg and doing well.

Costs to date (receipts will be posted when this is all over):

$50 SPCA 'Vulnerable animal' adoption fee

$200 donation towards the cost of 3 weeks of hospital care, dental work etc.

$30 worth of soft food (the cattery feeds only dry food)

He's now with the lovely people at Wellington Kennels & Cattery, in his own room. I'll visit him as regularly as I can while he's there.

Next stop: Cats Protection League when a space becomes available.
