Poor Holly has unfortunately been put to sleep.

Edit: It is on a sad note that I have to let everyone know that we had to put Holly down on Thursday night. She had fluid under her skin because the damage to her kidneys was too extensive and was not breathing well. We would like to say a big thank you for all the amazing support for our whole family. Anara is absolutely devastated and is not coping with the loss of her beautiful baby. We would like to keep the givealittle going to help pay for the massive vet bill for poor Holly. Thank you for everything.

Holly is at the vets fighting for her life after being deliberately poisoned with antifreeze-laced meat. Holly belongs to Anara, an autistic 10 year old who has had her Holly for nine years. Anara suffers from insomnia and Holly keeps her company as she is awake for up to 8 hours every night. Holly sleeps in Anara's arms.

Over the last weekend we have lost two other cats to being deliberately poisoned. Blood tests have confirmed the presence of antifreeze, and meat found was tested and found to be laced with antifreeze. Anara is distraught that she may lose her "baby" as well. She is unable to attend school due to high levels of anxiety and fear that someone is deliberately hurting animals in our neighbourhood.

Carevets Chartwell has been incredibly generous to us and while i was told that care for Holly would be $1000 per day they have charged us a lot less than this hence we have lowered our goal.
