Save the Lakes District Museum!

    We are thrilled that our seismic strengthening building work is well under way and making great progress.

    The BNZ building has been gutted and the exciting work of redesigning our displays has started.

    We are now fundraising specifically for these displays and are full of ideas about how we want to tell our stories once the building work is completed.

    Every dollar we raise helps us with the design and construction of engaging, educational and fun exhibits to fill the museum.

  • Some good news!

    We are thrilled that our submission to the QLDC Annual Plan has been accepted. The contribution fromthe QLDC is equivalent to one third of the funding we need. this means that we can now apply to other funders who require this amount to be in place.

    We appreciate the support of the QLDC and local ratepayers. Thank you!

      The fact that local government (QLDC) recognise and support this local institution is wonderful news. Central government need to come to the party now. It’s this team at the museum that have been the keepers of the districts history for 70 years plus. Hopefully they will find the rest of the funds to keep up the great work.
