Support Upper Hutt's Chelsey Edwards as she represents New Zealand on the world stage in 2026!
Upper Hutt, Wellington
Hi, I'm Chelsey Edwards, Aqua Black #265.
I was born and raised in Upper Hutt and started swimming with Upper Hutt Swimming Club when I was five years old. While I now live and train in Auckland, Upper Hutt will always be home.
Upper Hutt has been part of my journey every step of the way. From my early days at Upper Hutt Swimming Club to representing New Zealand on the world stage, I am incredibly proud to call this community home.
The support of my family, coaches, teammates, and wider community helped shape the swimmer I am today. One of my proudest achievements came last year when I became the fastest New Zealand woman in history over 50 metres freestyle, and I've recently been selected to represent New Zealand at the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
This year presents the biggest opportunity of my career, with the chance to compete at the Commonwealth Games, Pan Pacific Swimming Championships, and World Short Course Championships.
Competing internationally comes with significant costs, and much of this must be self-funded. My family and I have invested heavily to make these opportunities possible, but we cannot do it alone.
We are aiming to raise $30,000 to help cover travel, accommodation, competition, and training expenses.
Every donation, big or small, will help me continue pursuing my dream of representing New Zealand while proudly representing the Upper Hutt community that has supported me throughout my journey.
Thank you for your support.
