Mum has been battling terminal lung cancer since last Christmas, and things have taken a turn. Treatment has stopped, and as mum prepares to shuffle off her mortal coil, we are faced with a number of costs that we are not able to meet. I have had to stop working to provide full time care. Mums pain medication is $220 a month. There are also adjunct therapy costs, as well as the impending actual funeral expenses.

I am really struggling to make ends meet, and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mum has spent her whole life giving to others, now it’s our turn to give back.

Use of funds

The money will be spent on a water-cremation, a wicker casket, a silk shroud, and end-of-life creature comforts.

Cynthia, you always made me feel at home in your house. You were the first adult, besides my parents, that I came out too. I'll never forget your response. It was such a " non issue." It meant a lot. I loved that we were both night owls. I remember sitting down with you in the house in Long Point, probably super late, and discussing the benefits of having ADHD. Also, I remember telling you about my awful summer job waiting tables at Applebee's and you hired me to help you as your "PA." That was the best summer job. You have been a great, super supportive, mom to your girls and to more than several of us lucky kids. I will always be grateful for these and many other reasons.
