Helping Ruby get to science camp in Germany
Whanganui, Manawatu-Wanganui
Ruby's been accepted into a 3-week international science camp in Germany.
This year is an enforced gap year because she can't start uni yet as she needs two surgeries. In the meantime, she's working her butt off (literally working five jobs at the moment) to get the funds together for the fees and the flights. It's expensive, and she needs some help. The courses she's doing are each a week long: light and matter; molecular medicine; physics in life sciences. You can find out more about the courses and the camp here: https://xlab-goettingen.de/en/courses-for/students-individuals/international-science-camp
I'm Ruby's ridiculously proud mum.
Flights to Germany and camp fees
Update on miss Ruby's adventure 26 May 2025
As we're only a few days out from this page closing, probably time for an update. She's paid her camp fees AND booked all her flights and most of her accommodation. Excitement level is quite high ;-). Thank you again to everyone who so kindly and generously donated to help her make this a reality. We are and she is so super appreciative.
Aww, thanks Andrew!
Thanks Holly!!
Thanks so much folks, so kind and generous <3
Thanks so much, Amitabh, to think of her in the midst of everything you're experiencing too xx
Aww, thanks Juanita - you've never even met her, so much appreciated xx
