Fundraising for Junior World Open Water Championship, Argentina, September 2026

Mount Maunganui, Tauranga

At just 16 years old, Sheldon Hogan has been selected to represent New Zealand at the Junior World Open Water Championships in Argentina this September.

Being chosen to wear the silver fern is an incredible honour and the result of years of dedication, and countless early mornings in the pool and open water. Sheldon has worked tirelessly to earn this opportunity, balancing school, training, and competition while continually striving to improve.

Open Water Swimming is a demanding sport that requires not only physical endurance but determination, resilience, and mental strength.. Representing New Zealand on the World stage is a dream come true and a chance to compete against the best Junior Open Water Swimmers from around the globe.

International competition comes with costs. As with many age-group sports in New Zealand, athletes are responsible for funding much of the trip themselves.

We're asking for your support to help Sheldon take this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help make this dream a reality. If you're unable to donate, we'd be incredibly grateful if you could share this page with your friends, family, and community.

Thank you for supporting Sheldon as he proudly represents New Zealand in Argentina. Your generosity means more than words can express.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
