Please help Simba to have her surgeries for both of her back knee caps
Auckland
We adopted Simba at an animal rescue centre in Feb 2019. When we adopted her, she had two ulcers on her tongue but we didn’t realise that was early symptoms of gingivitis. The lady at animal rescue centre gave us a tube of antibiotics, and told us to feed her once a day then her ulcers would go away. As we did what she told us but little Simba would still consume way less the food she should be having to at her age. With Simba underweight at 2kg and having less and less food when she was 8 month old, we took her to our local vet and she was diagnosed with sever gingivitis. She then had her whole mouth teeth extracted except for the front four.
After that Simba was on supplement daily and have gained a lot of weight to 4.5kg. As we all thought she can finally live her happy life, she was suddenly limping on both of her back legs. We stopped her supplement as suggested by the vet, and her eating problem is coming back as she totally refuse to eat and drink. After she had her blood test, x ray and full body examination, the result was not positive. She has very sever ulcer problem in the deep of her throat. And she is limping because she has problems with both of her knee caps. The vet explained that she will need to get injections every month to get her eat and drink normally. And she will also need surgeries for her knee caps as soon as possible, as she has already had mussel loss because of limping, which I need to raise funds for. And her front paws start to loss mussel too as she walks less and less.
She is now with the vet waiting for her first surgery for the back left knee cap. And the second one to be scheduled within a month or so. Thank you so much for any donations helping Simba to be able to run and jump in the rest of her life ahead. Hopefully she can run like a real little lion Simba in the near future. Much appreciation.
I adopted Simba two years ago and I am her (human) family member.
