Young father hurt in Explosion needs help
Raising funds to assist with the recovery of this creative man who has received burns to approximately 60% of his body.

Simon is a young father who had been creating a garden in his back yard, it was his dream to create an area for walk through gardens and a meditation place. His portacom had a gas leak, which caused an explosion, destroying his home and leaving him with severe burns to a large portion of his body .
The awesome neighbors ran to his aid, which probably saved him with the burns he recieved over most of his body.
Emergency services quickly arrived and assisted as best they could.
A leak from a fitting attached to the gas bottle had filled up, and ignited the portacom.
Simon is fortunately alive and has been sent to middlemore burns unit where he will recieve the care and treatment that he needs over the next 4 months .
He is one of those creative alternative types who has a big heart for anyone.
Funds raised will go towards repairs or rebuild depending on what simon would like to do, and also assist with his recovery .

Healing thoughts and hospital updates 23 February 2020
It is my pleasure to tell you all that I am healing very well even the doctors have commented on the rate of my recovery.
The extent of my burns were over 50% with alot of them 3rd degree. 15% of donor skin was required to patch up the areas that needed it. Fortunately my legs provided the necessary skin for the grafts. After several surgeries and many of bandage changes I now have the use of my hands and legs again. But still a lot of healing and therapy to go.
My portacom is almost beyond repairable. To be assessed when I am able to inspect it my self. Along with all my possessions most of which will need replaced. And a few speciality clothes to protect me from the sun once I am back in the world again. But I will cross that bridge when I reach it.
I also want to say thank you from the bottom on my heart to everyone for the love, support, healing energy and generosity that has been bestowed upon me. I couldn't have done it with out all of you. Love you all
