Help Spike See Again

Meet Spike

Spike is a 8 year ex working dog that due to his cataracts and declining eye sight was on the way to a unhappy end. I had met Spike on several occasions so when I heard this I offered to take him as my first dog. Growing up with dogs all my life I was looking forward to sharing all the things I enjoyed with those dogs, with my new mate Spike. Being a working dog Spike had never experienced the normalities of playing fetch, walking on the beach and getting washed and cuddled. Things like being tied to his kennel for 20hrs a day was going to be a thing of the past. I’ve had spike for around 8 months now and am enjoying every minute of it.

He comes to work with me on the building site every day and roams the property at home with no confines to a crate or rope. He loves to play and chase sticks but with his ever diminishing eye sight it usually ends in him running around looking in the opposite direction that the stick went. Night time is a real hardship for Spike as he bumps and trips over everything and has to be guided to his food bowl to know where it is.

Spike is such a sweet loyal dog that has a heart of gold and I would really like to give him the retirement and life that he missed and by giving him his sight back it would improve his way of life ten fold.
