Everything is being paid for out of his own pocket, so we are wanting to help start a scholarship fund for children and adults.
Wellington
Mozhdeh Martial Arts coaches Eisa Mozhdeh and Stella Bismark have both represented New Zealand in Taekwondo Tournaments both here in NZ and overseas.
Eisa is a 4th Degree Black Belt and Stella is a 2nd Degree Black Belt.
Both are wishing to share their vast experience with others so Eisa has opened his Mozhdeh Martial Arts workshop here in Kapiti.
He has worked many extra hours saving up to be able to make this reality possible.
The main thing we would really value support with is a scholarship fund for children with disabilities, refugee backgrounds, or low income families who wouldn't otherwise be able to afford class fees or gradings.
Eisa was a referee at the Special Needs Taekwondo World Championships in Napier.
Eisa would also be able to provide free or low cost workshops for children who have experienced bullying at schools to help boost their confidence and self-esteem.
Taekwondo is a martial art enjoyed by people of both genders and many ages. Learning Taekwondo can build strength, speed, balance, flexibility, and fitness as well as self-confidence and self-discipline. It can also help with goal setting, with students setting their sights on mastering each level (white, yellow, blue, and red) with the view to ultimately obtaining a coveted black belt.
What does the research say?
Studies report a range of benefits for children and young people participating in martial arts including:
- increased self esteem
- reduced anxiety
- improved academic performance & reduced classroom behavioral difficulties
- reduced aggressive and hostile behaviors
Very good family friend for many years, and now being trained in Taekwondo by Eisa. Am wanting to help out and fund raise money for scholarships for children and young adults.
The money will be used for scholarships for children with disabilities, refugee backgrounds, or low income families who may not get the chance to learn anything like this.
