Help support a small local buisness to survive and thrive.
Woolston, Christchurch
Our goal when opening Steadfast Books 4 years ago was to create a destination book corner in Christchurch. We started off small having a few curated sections and as we expanded we needed to remove our comfy chairs to make more space.
As people are aware our rent has been increased by 40%. Meaning it will increase financial pressure in already a tough trading environment. Our vision is to create a safe space that will allow us to have seated areas when people can come in for respite from their every day and relax browse the books and feel at home in the company of book lovers.
The purpose of this give a little page is to crowd fund the store moving. As you can imagine moving over 30 thousand books from one store to another will be very expensive and timely. during that time we will need to have the store closed in order to move and that could take up to 2 weeks to transfer and set things up.
While we are not trading we will still have to pay rent on both buildings and ensure that the staff gets paid as well. As a small business who focusses on creating a community that is full of love and support we want to keep this dream alive.
If you can spare even $1 to help us we would be immensely grateful. We cant believe how much support we have had from our community so far through messages of encouragement and coming and visiting our store.
Unless Warren Buffet can buy us a building

The money fundrasied will go into moving cost, bond for a new lease and ensuring staff are still paid while we are closed.
