Help us give Storm more time ❤️

Our beautiful girl Storm was diagnosed with bladder cancer last week, at just 3 years old. She turns 4 on the 21st.

We’ve had Storm since she was a tiny 10-week-old puppy. She was born in Christchurch, came home with us to Greymouth on the West Coast, and at around 6 months old made the big journey north with us to Northland. She has travelled almost the length of New Zealand with us and has been by our side through so many chapters of our lives. She is family.

We’ve already spent $940 on her initial veterinary care. She is currently taking Previcox to keep her comfortable, and we have another appointment next Thursday to see how she is responding and get a better idea of how aggressive her cancer is.

An oncology pathway was discussed, but the estimated $5,000–$8,000 cost is unfortunately beyond what we can manage right now. That doesn’t mean we’re giving up on her. We want to give Storm the best quality of life and as much time with us as we possibly can.

Asking for help is incredibly difficult, but we’re swallowing our pride and reaching out. Even a small contribution could help with Storm’s ongoing vet visits, medication, scans and treatment.

**Storm’s latest vet update ❤️🐾**

Storm was an absolute superstar at today’s appointment! With help from me and her dad during the X-rays, she cooperated amazingly and didn’t need sedation, keeping costs down and meaning she didn’t have to spend the day drugged up.

The vets took multiple passes over her bladder and we got some incredible news — **Storm’s mass has shrunk by around 80%!** That’s just under 1cm of shrinkage in only two weeks on her current medication. ❤️

She’ll continue her current medication for another fortnight before another check-up, with hopes this can become a long-term treatment with fewer vet visits.

Today’s appointment was $250.51. Thanks to **$200 from Mike’s team at Kerikeri SPCA** and a very generous **$50 deposited directly with the vets yesterday**, we only had **51 cents left to pay.** The vets were just as blown away by everyone’s generosity as we were!

Storm also still has **$140 sitting untouched in her Givealittle**, thanks to everyone’s incredible support. This will remain available for her ongoing treatment and future vet costs.

And another bit of good news — after my partner disputed the redundancy, his employer has agreed for him to stay on, and he starts back at mahi next week. ❤️
