Help Support Don Tamihana in His Final Journey

  • Final Update on Don’s Journey 14 October 2025

      20 October 2025

It’s with heavy hearts that we share that Don passed away peacefully at home on the 14th of October, surrounded by his loving family. He fought with incredible courage and strength right to the very end.

Mum was by his side every step of the way, just as she has been through this entire journey — her love and care never wavered. Don was safe, loved, and held close by those who meant the most to him.

Our family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of kindness, messages, prayers, and donations that have supported us through these difficult months. Your love has lifted us in ways words can’t describe.

Thank you for standing with Don and with us. His strength, humour, and heart will live on in all who knew him.

Rest easy, Don — forever loved. 💛

  • Update on Dons journey

      24 September 2025

Don has been showing his trademark strength and determination through this incredibly tough time. While he was doing well at home for a while, the cancer has now taken away his ability to walk. He’s been back in hospice care as we work together on finding the best way to manage things and ensure he still has as much quality of life as possible.

The team is helping us explore whether he can return home with the right support, or if moving into aged care might be needed to keep him safe and comfortable. Over the past year, Don has faced cancer all through different parts of his body, and each time he has met it head-on with courage and resilience.

We are so grateful for the love, support, and kindness shown by everyone following Don’s journey. Every message, prayer, and donation has helped lift him up and reminded him he’s not facing this battle alone. Mum has been so strong in tackling everything so far right by Dons side through everythng.

Thank you for standing with Don and our family as he continues to fight hard, in true Don style.
