Thank you from the depths of my heart and soul for the kindness, love, and support you have shown my family. Many of you have not seen us much since the fire, as we have been deeply grieving the loss of our dream home. With the care and generosity surrounding us, I have been slowly creating a “nest to call home” for my family, a safe place to rest and heal.
I have also been restoring a few cherished items from the fire. While so much was lost, being able to save and restore a handful of meaningful pieces has been deeply grounding for me.
What emerged from this tragedy was a renewed faith in humanity. Our community truly came together with compassion and love, and it was extraordinary to witness. My heart is full of gratitude.
I believe that even the hardest moments are here to grow us. This experience has been an invitation to practise kindness, empathy, and love together as a community.
Our family is in a season of growth. We will rise from the ashes slowly and gently. True healing takes time, and we are truly are phoenix turtles learning patience with the grief process.
